Technology Education (TECH ED) at Joseph L. McCourt Middle School is a program that provides all students the opportunity to be technologically literate.  Technologically capable students are able to recognize problems needing practical solutions; develop and evaluate a variety of solutions to a perceived problem; and select, optimize, and apply knowledge and other resources to solve practical problems. 

In addition to Technology Education, computer literacy skills are also taught in order to enhance students’ ability to be successful in a technological world.  The areas of instruction within the computer literacy framework are:

  • Systems and Fundamentals

  • Social and Ethical Considerations

  • Word Processing

  • Spreadsheets

  • Multimedia and Presentations

  • Telecommunication

  • Internet and Database.
